The aquaculture controls creature resources inhabiting the ocean by a human hand and is industry to increase it, and to use.
We understand physiology ecological characteristics of the target creature well to improve productivity of the aquaculture and cannot miss technology development to use efficiently.
In our section, I analyze an aquaculture creature from a bioscientific viewpoint and make full use of a bioscientific technique and aim at developing the innovative technique that productivity of the aquaculture improves drastically.
It is "the study about the new aquaculture class and aquaculture system" that go particularly positively in our section.
The station is housed in the former Nishiura Elementary School building, each of which is used as a laboratory and meeting room.
There is also a breeding building in a separate building, where parent and juvenile fish of various species are raised in 30-ton, 7-ton, and 1-ton tanks, and a large cold storage facility is provided for storing food and experimental samples. In addition, in accordance with the Seto Inland Sea Environmental Protection Special Measures Law, the wastewater from the entire facility is treated in a wastewater treatment tank located behind the breeding building, and experiments are conducted in consideration of environmental issues.
Taste recognition equipment
It is mainly used for taste testing of suma (kawakawa), where differences in taste can be quantified in detail according to the human sensory scale, allowing sensory evaluation.
By using multiple taste sensors, such as those for umami and astringent, it is possible to detect the interaction of tastes.
Next-generation gene analysis system
It is an instrument for examining DNA and RNA sequences in order to study various factors related to diseases and biological phenomena.
Fish body measurement stereo camera
By inserting a camera into the aquarium, you can measure the length and height of the swimming fish almost exactly.
The weight of the fish can also be measured.
Nishiura Station has long and short stay rooms.Used by visitors, students and international students who come to SEFREC.
You do the cooking and washing yourself.
Kitchen, washing machine, shower room and toilet are all shared.
Please contact us regarding stay room.
